Paul, Thank you for the opportunity to comment on your proposal. I have really gotten to know and use DX4WIN, and thoroughly enjoy the software. I find the current packet spotting colors quite adequate, but any enhancements are always nice. My current goal is to work every country on every band on both CW & SSB, so the color spots are very helpful!
A couple of comments: 1. I don't believe in the current version that the bands/modes specified in the "Station" section of preferences have any connection to the Dx spot window - i.e., if I choose not to operate SSB, then no SSB spots would show up. 2. It would be nice to have an alert capability for a specific station without losing all the regular alerts as in 4.07. Perhaps that is what is suggested in your mode 1. You say "New Country or Callsign Alert" - could it be New Country and/or Callsign Alert? 3. I do see a difference between 8A and 8B in your proposal. There are times when I would like spots to show up for DX friend that is on, even though I may have worked him many times on the same band/mode, but still ignore 6M or RTTY spots. Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
