I agree with you, Jim. My preference has always been for things that "thrive 
on neglect". Old-fashioned DOS batch files just make me nervous.

My latest software discovery for file back-up and synchronization is a free 
program from www.2brightsparks.com called SyncBack. This gem can perform 
automated back-ups (makes an exact copy of your files in a second location) 
or synchronization (compares the files in two locations and make them 
identical based on the most recent date/time stamps) using the Windows 
scheduler -- so there is no processor overhead for having this run in the 
background. Aside from file I/O, the program knows about stuff like SMTP, 
HTTP, FTP, and ZIP -- very flexible.

A very cool, FREE utility and highly recommended.
