Yes, that is correct. I know of no work-around. I hope Paul will address this, it also affects people running (or who want to run) Windows XP 64. I'm normally an "early adopter", but I'm sticking with Windows XP for the foreseeable future. I see no compelling reason to upgrade to Vista. If Vista comes pre-installed, well that's a different story.... 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, http://www.ad1c.us From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Feb 13 10:34:32 2007 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (K0CF) Date: Tue Feb 13 10:38:33 2007 Subject: [Dx4win] DX4Win on Windows Vista In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> References: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >--- K0CF <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: >> I found the reference to vichw11.sys in the archives and have >> successfully copied it to the Windows\System32\drivers folder, but >> DX4Win still complains about its absence, then terminates. Your last sentence is, of course, the key. Vista came pre-installed on my new Dell XPS-410 PC. XP is no longer available from Dell. And here I sit, broken hearted... 73, Craig, K0CF
