FO/OH1RX is on the air now from Marquesas, FO/M.

This will be in the next DX4WIN.CTY database update.

If you want, log a fake QSO with FO/OH1RX, changing the prefix to FO/M.
Save the QSO (ENTER or F10), then delete it (CTRL-Delete). Then save
your log (ALT-S). This will update your current country database.

Hi Bob,

I'm sorry you lost QSOs.

Please read the application note about Backups that I wrote:

   http://dx4win.ad1c.us/

This should answer most of your questions.

This has happened to me also. Fixed the problem by turning off the automatic
updates on WinXP. This is important if you keep you DX4WIN running all the
time on your computer
If for some reason the updates reboot twice, you backup file, .DXB will be
lost also.

Jack is right. Two strikes and you're out.

Set your Automatic Updates to notify you, but don't install automatically.

Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

I just started using LoTW. I successfully uploaded three years of QSOs
to LoTW. The LoTW website says I have 562 QSLs and I have listed those
stations that have QSLed on the lotw site.

I then downloaded all the confirmed QSOs from the site as the
lotwreport.adi file and tried to import them into my log by specifying
"Set Upload Confirmed Flag Only" in the duplicate QSOs window. I then
get a message that no QSOs have been confirmed, and when I go to check
for the confirmed QSOs, they are in fact not confirmed. I have "Upload
Conf" specified in the Confirmed QSOs slot of the QSO menu in Preferences.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here?

Thanks and 73,

That's the problem, Joe. Change it to "Card in Hand" and try again.

In my application note I make mention of this fact:

    http://dx4win.ad1c.us/appnotes/lotw.htm

"IMPORTANT: Before importing the ADIF LoTW report, in your QSO Preferences
(File -> Preferences -> QSO tab), make sure that "Confirmed QSOs" in the
bottom-left corner is not set to "Upload conf". Otherwise, DX4WIN will not set
the "Upl Cnf" field in the logbook."

The program works the way Paul wants it to. I don't agree that it's correct,
and as you demonstrated, it's not intuitive.

You're right, Dave. Either works, but for the purposes of the application
note, it made sense to specify the "obvious". I'll update it this weekend.

Hi
I have the next question is there a possibility to link MIXWIN to DX4WIN ?
I work a couple of years with Mixwin and it works great for Digi Modes
But is would be nice if I work a station in RTTY it go direct to Mixwin just
the same as it works with MMTTY
So maybe it is possible ?
Tnx Rien, PA7RA

Kostas:

Thank you for the explanation, which indeed is clear, and confirms that
mode information may influence posting color. But here is an example of
the specific problem, which may not fit the criteria you have listed.
These spots just came in.

Note: "Alert unconfirmed country" is unchecked. TO5FJ is in the log on
40 SSB.

P Freq Callsign Time QSX Remarks Spotter
4 7080.0 TO5FJ 0226 simplex DL7AFV Blue
letters
9 7080.0 TO5FJ 0234 7240 QSX 7240 N4YIC Gray letters
4 7080.0 TO5FJ 0242 KE5FXE
Blue letters

The first and third QSOs are labeled 4-Award Mode.Unconfirmed--which is
the actual case---and the second QSO is "9-No Interest", which is not
the case, because it is unconfirmed. The second QSO indicates by the
QSX frequency--both in the QSX and Remarks columns--that the posting is
SSB, which was the QSO mode, of course, so why was it gray?

Another annoyance of Automatic Updates--and not just for DX4WIN--is that
one can leave with something else in progress on the screen, and return
to the shack to find the computer rebooted to the Windows Desktop
without having requested it.

Thanks for the reminder--I just killed automatic updates.

The answer is simple
the right one is the 2nd qso. The colour must be grey. This station has no
interest for you to confirm this country, band, mode. You worked him. If you
have this country unconfirmed (as you have) this station can't help you
more. (in some cases as zd7x - see qrz.com for him- working 2nd time has as
result to loose all qsos).
So your preferences for the cw cutoff freq for 40m probably is 7100. That is
not right because the most of the stations work cw under 7040. So dx4win
thinks that 1st and 3rd qso is cw while the 2nd one is ssb. In some rare
cases where i am not sure that i worked a station and want to see the spots
(last example with 3y0e. I worked him but because of qsb i never heard the
confirmition from him. So i waited for the online log. Tnx God i was in!) i
do this trick. I log the station like /mm . That is i logged 3y0e like
3y0e/mm. Dx4win knows that the maritime stations doesn't count for dxcc so
the spot colours don't affected.
