Hi Alan, I don't have easy access to 2007 Excel but in 2003, I would: 1) Click the column heading for the time 2) Click "Format cells..." 3) Click "Custom" 4) Double-click (to highlight) the "General" below the 'Type:' label 5) Type '0000' (if you don't have seconds in your time) or '000000' if you do 6) Click OK >From then on everything you type in that column will be left-filled with an >appropriate number of zeros. If this doesn't work in 2007, let me know and I'll see if I can get an answer from elsewhere. 73, Lee N7NU

But I do have a question for you concerning Excel. At times I download a DX4WIN report, such as DXCC or IOTA, to an Excel spreadsheet by right clicking on the report and clicking "WRITE TO FILE". This works FB for me except how do you get leading zeros to appear in the time column. Example, I worked someone at 0005 GMT but only a 5 shows up, 0045 GMT becomes 45 and 0655 becomes 655. If there are four digits in the time such as 1745 GMT then the 1745 shows up FB. I am using Office 2007 ver. of MS Excel. If I remember right I could easily add leading zeros OK when I used Office ver. 2003 but can't figure it out for ver. 2007. I have a suspicion that maybe the way some of your dates are seen by Excel may be your problem. Also be sure you don't need to lengthen the width of the date column on the Excel spreadsheet. If it is not wide enough you will see #### instead of the date. You might stretch it open so the date will fully fit in the column but when you close Excel maybe it doesn't save the change? Good luck! I followed all the steps for the filter and it took all 13,000 + QSOs but about 830 of them had a blank date field. I cannot see anything different about the date for those fields. I also tried first converting the logs to ADIF but have been unsuccessful in my attempts at formula manipulation. A few examples on the web proved frustrating as they expected custom macros. Any ideas?
