For whatever it's worth, 8.05 works fine with my ProIII.
Rig is set to address 6Eh, baud rate 9600.
DX4WIN is set to Address 6E, Baud Rate 9600.
COM1, 333ms poll rate, 6 tries, DTR and RTS High.
I'm using a Hosenose serial adapter.
