Maybe you disconnect and connect an other cable (for example a mobile phone). So when it is connected before the radio turns on, the phone will get com3 and radio com7. Either the radio gets the com3....

The virtual com port is either com 3 and either com 7. As I know this only happens if you plug the usb cable in a different usb port. Please check if you plug it in the same usb port every time or in a different one. Normally if you plug it in the same port you will always get the same com port number.
