Ron,
I have had the same 'missing' country.dat problem many times on just one
computer in my basement main shack, but never in my upstairs operating
position computer.
Both are running the same model Dell desktops with Win10 and Avast
antivirus.
I suspect that it has something to do with major Windows updates on
Tuesdays, but cant be sure. It may be Avast antivirus updates that
delete it. I use the upstairs computer all the time, but the main shack
computer only a couple times a week, so it's hard to catch the timing.

Hello DX4WIN Users.
I have been using the latest version DX4WIN, now version 9.0.9.1259
for the past two years, running on Window 10, without any issues.
Yesterday, on start-up I got a "Fatel Error Message" saying
Country.dat file was missing and error message said I had to close the
program. It would not run
I found a Country.dat file, which was not too old, in my latest Back
Up folder and copied it into the saved folder and all was well again.
I checked for the latest Updates and downloaded the latest Country.dat
file, to be sure I had the latest version of Country.dat.
My question, is how did my original Country.dat file go missing?
I have not been accessing or doing any work on my DX4WIN files.
It was not re-named or moved to the Recycle Bin or elsewhere, that I
can see.
I have not had any big Windows Updates lately, except for a Skype Update.
So any clues or suggestions would be of interest and would be
appreciated.
Thank you, from Ron. vk3io.
