For some reason I can't connect to this node using DXBase telnet ap.
But I can, using DXTELNET, WRITELOG, or the HyperTerminal program in
windows.
Two separate computers exhibit the same problem.
I've been trying to pin this problem down for months and can't find a clue.

The cluster node is: 131.156.2.132 W9NIU No special port number is
necessary.
This is the Northern Illinois University Ham Club cluster.

For some reason, using DXBase2002 on my machines does not even reach the
cluster, as if it didn't exist and I get the 'failed to connect' message.
I can start Writelog or DXTELNET on the same computer using the same IP
number and connect instantly. I use my call as the User Login, no password,
and the User Connect response is DXC. These command replies work with all
programs other than DXB.

I've eliminated my router, Linksys, and my Firewall, Zone Alarm, as the
culprits because I can connect using the other programs.

So someone please humor me and give it a try on their system. I can usually
solve these types of problems but this one is giving me gray hairs and
ulcers.
Well ok, I already had gray hair and I don't have ulcers but you get the
idea. :-))
