Tom, Make sure that you are modifying the HOSTS file that is located in the Windows directory. This is the HOSTS file that Dxbase looks at; not the one provided in the Dxbase directory.
For a Windows XP machine the Hosts file is located at c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc (assuming that you installed Windows XP on the 'C' drive). The HOSTS file that Dxbase provides in its directory is there to list possible internet clusters that you can use in the operating system's HOSTS file. Hope this helps. Ron ........ When I use my Note Pad text editor to change the IP address, the new address is not showing up under user options. Restarting the computer had no effect. When I go back and look at the HOST file it reflects the changes but they are not showing up under user options. I am not doing something correct and would appreciate some assistance.
