To all: Since the "Counties" column in our QSO Logbook is being used for the USA-CA (Counties Award) -- the listed "Counties" of course are "keyed-to" the list that is used for the Counties Award.. I guess from what I am seeing on the Reflector so far -- the problem is coming into play - when someone is located in or lists their county as "one of the counties not USED in the Counties Award website"..
If I am wrong here - I apologize!! 73 Joe wa6axe Stuart Santelmann KC1F wrote: >>>Thanks Gary: >>> >>> Interesting - so how come KL7 LoTW QSLs are frequently showing up > > with > >>>"counties" not listed in DXbase, which create warnings when imported > > into > >>>DXbase ? The BIGGEST problem comes in when we try to make a QSL card file for printing to a "Single piece of card stock" -- and NOT to an 8.5 X 11" piece of paper.. As an example, the HP printer -- when setting up the paper tray for a single 3.5 X 5.0" card stock -- when you adjust the alignment tools -- BOTH sides of the alignment pulls in/out -- thereby ALWAYS making it so that the card is "CENTERED" in the tray --- Whereas - on my Lexmark InkJet 5000 printer -- when I do ANY printing from the paper tray - alignment is ALWAYS push over to the far-right side ---- I ONLY pull-in on the alignment tool from left to right -- so, in my case, I always am off-centered to the right for printing.. After talking with Ron today, I can sure see that in the case of "single" QSL cards being printed (either printing the WHOLE QSL card face -- or even just the QSO data on the front of back of the card stock -- we WOULD have to make 2 separate label/qsl card files -- so that both the printer like mine and the printer like Ron's can use the file --- we would just NAME the file slightly different so that the user could differentiate between which one to use for his/her situation.. IF any DXbase user still has not been able to get his/her QSL card "single card" to print properly - pse send an email and we should be able to get it going now.. 73 to all! Yes - I'm aware that they actually use Boroughs not counties. My son lives in Anchorage. This was the reference I made on the '27 counties' thing and probably is a good source for the errors. .73 Sandy W4DUP http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/maps/alaska_map.html
