Hello Group I found the same thing as Greg in DXBase 2006 If I enter a county using any lower-case letters, I can not exit that field until I replace ALL the characters with upper-case. All characters in the county field must be uppercase or DXBase will not allow me to exit the field without getting an error. "Butte" or "butte" county is not a county in California. Only "BUTTE" county is allowed. After typing the county I want using lower-case, I can then click the down arrow and the county I typed in is listed and highlighted in uppercase. I can then click on the highlighted uppercase county and I am then allowed to move to another field. I think it would be nice if while you typed the county in the field in any case, DXBase could help fill-in the county in the field the same as the state and other fields currently do. John de KE5RS

The next time this happens, click on the down arrow in the county field to show the list of counties. Check if the list shows valid counties for that State. I think you will find the county you are trying to enter is not in the list. Why? For some reason, DXB2006 seems not to load the proper county list for the State in question. I run into to this most often when updating an existing log entry from a QSL card with the Previous QSO's screen. A tab through the already filled in State field will sometimes fail to load the correct list of counties for that state into the County field list. Then, the matching county cannot be located regardless of the case being used. Joe has stated he cannot reproduce this error, but I continue to run across it from time to time.
