Mike, If you have your database backed up I wouldn't think it would be a big deal at all. Just re-install DXBase and then copy your data bases back into the program. I have heard a few "tales of woe" from those who have failed to back up their mdb files, so at least you are not in that boat.
As far as Windows goes, I personally format my hard drive and do a fresh install of Windows about once a year (or sooner if I notice programs running abnormally slow). If you take this approach, delete all the programs you don't want before installing DXBase again. >From what I have picked up from Windows Geeks is the registry file gets full >of "crap"; if one is a computer wizz, he would be able to go into the registry >and "clean it up"; unfortunately, I am not one!! Additionally, there are >programs sold at computer stores and online that will "clean up your >registry". I have heard they work with varying results, I have not tried >one yet as I don't find it that big of a deal to format the hard drive and >start over! Good luck Dick K8ZTT ______________________________________________________________ Dxbase mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dxbase Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected]
