I'm still a DXB2006 user and did not upgrade to 2007 when it came out because I didn't think I needed the slight improvements made in that release. My intention was to upgrade when the 2008 edition was released. Then I was waiting for the 2009 update. Now I'm anxiously awaiting the 2010 version! Hopefully it will be worth the wait!
There have been many suggestions made for the next release so Neal may already have his plate completely full. If not I'd like to add two suggestions. 1.) I've mentioned this one before. The Tool/Options/Special Events... feature is lame. When various events, such as contests, are entered and DXB is started the events for the month are displayed in random hysterical order, not in ascending date order for that month. It also shows dates that are now history so I know what I've missed! And it displays events for the month name without regard for the year. Right now DXB is reminding me of the NA Sprint RTTY contest in October 2010 just so I don't miss it! A decent date handling routine for this feature is badly needed. 2.) How about adding the ability for DXB to play pre-recorded audio messages for CQing, simple QSO exchanges, QTH/QSL info, RST reports, Special Event operation information, etc. No need to have DXB create the messages, just the ability to tap into a folder of existing wav files, say with F keys, and key the rig and play them back. 73, Gary AL9A ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter Dougherty" <[email protected]> To: "'Jim WA9YSD'" <[email protected]>; <[email protected]> Sent: October 29, 2009 3:49 PM Subject: Re: [Dxbase] DXBase 2006 > My two-cents worth here, the upgrade from 2005 to 2006 was a massive > change > with many new features added.
