  I also agree with John.  Customization should always be enabled unless 
there is a clear functional reason why a restriction should apply.

I use DXBase for everything but contesting, where I use N1MM (although 
after a contest I always load my log into DXBase).  That program also 
allows windows to float on the desktop in whatever arrangement you 
like.  I find that I use different configurations for different purposes 
and I like that flexibility. When you minimize the main log window, they 
all minimize together (something that should also be customizable).
