Aaahhh, if only it was as simple as you suggest... life would be good. But, the reality is that for nearly every single user of DXbase, there will be a different belief in how a label should appear. Let's just say if there were 5000 DXbase users, you can almost bet there will be 5000 different requests for label format. So, the developer's issue is how can the needs of all be best met. Thus, we begin with a label module capable of allowing the user to apply their own formatting.... fonts, field positions, show this data but not that, thousands of different label sizes to allow, and the list goes on and on. The capability to accomodate nearly any need is there but like so many things in life, to get the benefit, you must inject a little effort yourself. And for those who are unwilling to apply their own efforts, there are hundreds of default label formats, sizes, and so forth from which to pick. Almost "plug and play" if you will... I'm always surprised when I see posts that emphatically claim the software "won't" do this or that, when I know full well the statement is just not true. Believe me, it keeps me laughing and so I suppose it's keeping me young since laughter has been shown to reduce stress. I guess one man's hassel, is another mans happiness.
