I don't think this is true. I've never consciously downloaded VM and do not
use it,
and I'm certain that all 15 persons in my company don't use it at home too.
At my office I don't have it installed, and only two of the servers have it
(in a total
of 6 machines) for development purposes.

I would like to know where you get those stats though... :)
