I didn't expect this topic to generate this much fuzz :-)
Using another technology such as Java would indeed give us the ability needed. That is
not the problem as I see it. Instead it's the desire to be cross-browser/cross-OS that
is.
Using Java (for example) would mean the Java VM must be started if it isn't already
(NS4 and Mozilla 0.9 uses this late-starting technique I believe), increasing the
perceived load-time.
And as I understand it the Mac users wouldn't like this at all (no Java-JavaScript
connection in IE).
If I had to decide I would use Java anyway - Mac users could use Mozilla or another
browser that do support LiveConnect (the name used by Netscape).
But the question remains - if someone knows a way to do it only using JavaScript
please share it! It must allow multiple dependancies, and deep too.
