Actually its the GNU LGPL.  Which means you are allowed to use the
library in your own projects and even charge a fee for such
products.

Which widgets are those? I do not know of many(actually any)
commercial sites that use the widgets that came with the dynapi. They
are generally created for the specific site. So I don't see this as an
issue. If someone wants to maintain a set of widgets, I'm sure Jordi
will will set you up with cvs access so you can edit your widget pack
at sourceforge. Right now no one is maintaining the widgets in the
distro. If you look at the original widgets in cvs, you will find very
little change since then (except for minor bug fixes).
