Hello Richard,
Thanks for the feed back. I am not hooked on the color scheme I have picked.
So I don't mind if we switch back to your colors, or change the font size as
you recommended. I didn't really spend to much time on the style sheet. The
only reason I have included a css so far, is because I wanted to define some
classes like .ToDo, .Code etc., this way I don't need to go back and insert
class"***" everywhere.
If you want you can be in charge of the css. All I ask is that you keep my
class definitions. Feel free to change anything inside the curly brackets.
Also try to stick to the browser friendly color palate.
About the line breaks: Like you said, I was just copy and pasting some text
we already had. I did not spend to much time with the formatting. With this
first Documentation Structure Candidate, I just wanted to convey what I
believe the structure should look like. Also this way people can see, what
still needs to be done (and pitch in some time to complete it, especially
those of you who have been screaming for documentation).
But as of yesterday, one fundamental issue may change the structure of the
documents. "To Widget, Or Not To Widget" That is the question. It seems that
most of you are eager to get rid of the widgets as part of the official
distro, while others want to keep them for testing purposes, still others
want to keep them and expand on them as fundamental building blocks. If we
will scrap the widgets, there is no point in documenting them. And if all of
you are just going to sit around and wait for Dan to release his new set of
widgets, than also there is no point in documenting our current widget set.
Because our own widgets will never be maintained after Dan's release. It is
not fair to expect one person to do all the work, and I can see why Dan
would want to charge for it. I just don't see how Dan will protect his hard
work, by creating generic widgets that could look very similar to others who
had the same idea, but that is for Dan to worry about. We as a community
need to decide:
Do we want widgets with our distro???
Once this issue is resolved, I will continue with the documentation.
Hopefully with some help.
NanoFace =;^)

widget discussion)
Hi
Ok Laszlo, a few comments on the documentation proposal:
The basic layout scheme seems good. I guess some of the parts will change as
they are filled in, but this offers an idea of what still needs to be done.
I'm not so keen on the color choices, I can not really read the red on
orange text, am not mad about the other colors, but I guess that's just a
style-sheet, that can be played around with later-on.
Some line-breaks are lost in the content, you're probably just pasting from
text-files though, which explains that.
Also, the type is very small, and can't be changed by the font-size chooser
in IE. this is because you use pt in the style-sheet. This is not simple,
some browsers pt stops resizing, in some px does. That's why I used em in my
style-sheet, but maybe there's some Linux/Mac issues with that, I don't
know.
Maybe people can test this, the same page with a different style-sheet, see
if font-sizes are acceptable, readable, and can be increased/decreased as
needed, over Linux/Mac/windows:

http://www.interlog.com/~ccsi/DynAPI-Docs/docs/
To be perfectly honest I prefer my version (the first) it seems more
readable, and to have a nicer color-combination, but then I would wouldn't I
:o)
So basically I like what you've done, I think it allows people to take on a
particular part of the documentation, and should allow for a to-do list.
I'll be continuing with the Doxygen documentation, but have work to finish
by 1/Dec and 11/Dec, so not much time right now.
Cheers, Richard.
