I value all your input and I respect that you're of the opinion it won't work or that
it should be done in another more core programming (compiling) language.

However I'm a webapp developer and designer at heart so I believe strongly that it is
possible to build a framework in js/dhtml (and with DynAPI it makes things easier as
well) and that the internet is better served with languages especially written with it
in mind (and that actually excludes Java). I know there are limitations and all but
I'll stick to the one language I've been focusing on, the one that tends to attract
webdesigners more than programmers and coders - javascript. Also I need a true
webapplication anyway to go further with site development...
I'm not opposing the ideas of a compiled builder though, they're all great, but maybe
there's room for more than one alternative. Maybe a compiled app can be more complex
and feature rich, but complexity isn't really my aim. What is great with javascript
(which oddly enough, few seem to be considering) is that it's so flexible for anyone
to continusly rework. In my view, the DynAPI2 souloution is the only one that is
totally free.

My goal with developing in DynAPI/JS goes further than to get together the Builder
itself. In my case I'm building on an open structure for a eComic community and aims
to make it free of as many bounds as possible. In my experience also everybody talks
loud on the great capacity of compiled languages versus scriptbased but forget about
the scalability and flexibilty of those. In my daily worksituation, I struggle with
monster apps working over networks usually way to much budgetized. Webapps OTOH, while
loading sometimes are heavy, working with them are usually quite slick once they've
loaded and while the world moves forward I personally think that there will be less
and less of a pipe-problem.

I have seen quite a few webbased HTMLeditors (research is the key, no? :) and some of
the more recent and more advanced utilises HTML 4.0 DOM so that they are no longer
crossbrowser. Maybe it's naive, but I'm determined to find out if it's really
impossible to get it crossbrowser and at least 4.x-browser compatible rather to take
the other path away from the flexability.

I hope though since I realise how big a task it's going to be (heck, even simple tasks
seems to grow way bigger in propotion once you get gritty with it), that there'll be
some support for this subproject - especially by those are going to make use of it
like me (ie the reason why I'm not just going to be awaiting it to be done by others).

Now if all I do in this is failing with my goal, at the very least I'll get myself
some valuble experience (crap talk for running a lost cause ;)

So you can call me naive, working at a lost or useless cause - but I hope you don't
blame me for giving it a try :)

Respect to all your thoughts and opinions, keep'em coming...
