I've splitted my own api, which is still in development. I don't think
you need platform specific versions, browser specific is enough.

Splitting the library is always a question of finding a balance between
download time for a specific browser and code duplication. Code
duplication is something that makes development harder, but when
carefully prepared and documented this shouldn't become a problem.
On the other hand clearly seperating code for different browser makes
development easier in some respects.

If you are interested I can send a pre-alpha, non-public version of my
_not_ Dynapi based (although borrowing some ideas) JS-lib....

In addition you should definitely use code compressors...
