On 27 May, Tim Teulings shouted:
->  Hallo!
->
-> > I never said I was re-bundling it. Imlib is a separate library and will
-> > remain so. E requires imlbi to have native support for TIFF, PNG etc...
-> > if imlib doesn't have it (ie you dont have the libs) E will refuse to
-> > compile. to make E compiel you will need to get these libs recompile
-> > imlib and thus also have to recompile and re-link all imlib using apps
-> > (as is the case when you have one shared library using another).
->
-> > gnome. It isnt' being bundled into E or anything, but E requires all
-> > the native loaders to be supported. I don't see what the issue here is.
->
-> Ok, then we were running in cirles around each other. You first answer
-> sounded like you will require *Imlib* to be compiled with *all* needed
-> libraries in future. That was the whole thing. You now state that you
-> will not do that in future. So everything is clear again and we can go
-> back to bussiness :-) Sorry for that inconvinience.
->
-> So back to my original question. I have the problem that I have to know
-> the libraries Imlib configure has found to be usable to generate a
-> valid chain of -l and -L options for my compiler. You stated that this
-> is not possible in the current version. Will this be possible in the
-> future? You just have to leave a simple textfile with that information
-> somewhere, possibly even as part or in the place where the Imlib config
-> file resides. That would be a enormous help for third party project
-> configure scripts and would take away the enormous burden of the user
-> to offer such comand line by hand. You need not give a time frame, I just
-> want to plan a strategie for my configure script.

just do it the way Imlib, gnome any everything else does - look for the
same libraries yourself - if you have them link to them.
