On 11-Jun-98 Christian Kreibich playfully chanted:
| I think I can recommend a book here, which at least helped me a lot:
|
| X Window System Programming, 2nd Ed., by Nabajyoti Barkakati (no
| mistyping here :), from the Unix Library series from SAMS Publishing.
|
| It gave me enough knowledge to write decent mods for good ol' E13, which
| I'm still using today ... The only bad thing about it I can think of is
| its weight if you carry it in your backpack: 980 pages, 'nuff said :)
I think they're ALL like that. Heh. I use the Xlib Reference Manual and the
other Xlib stuff (Volumes 1 and 2 the most, although I have Volume 0 and only
briefly scanned it last year when I got it) by Adrian Nye at O'Reilly. I dunno
where everybody picks theirs up, but I know Cheapbytes has it, and they're...
well, cheap (and quick). Sorry, I don't mean to sound like a string of adverts
(mumble mumble).
