Except for banks in other countries. Okay, of the 250 most expensive and least efficient banking countries, Australia is probably one of them! Yes, in 1980 banks here always paid interest on accounts, no matter how small, and now many accounts pay no interest worth mentioning, and they may also charge a monthly fee, but the fact is that you can still get bank accounts with no fees, or where the fees are entirely offset by transaction rebates (resulting in zero fees for normal usage), and that have good Internet Banking, online bill paying and ATM services available.
