The elrepo kernels *ARE* stable kernel.org kernels, pre-built for RHEL/Centos.
I don't believe there are any backports done (beyond the stable patches applied 
to 4.5.X), I think kcompat is just messed up and can be fixed likely with a 
small patch (it probably already is fixed in our current kcompat.h)

So am reading this correctly that our OOT driver(s) work on the vanilla 4.5 
kernel but not on the 4.5 kernel from the elrepo?  Is this correct?  If so what 
the hell did they do to the kernel to break this for the CentOS 4.5 kernel 
release?
