So this is an Ubuntu kernel not a kernel.org one, right? It doesn't mean it shouldn't work just I don't believe our validation actively checks new Ubuntu kernels. When issues do come up we will however write kcompat for the next release. Likewise the Source Forge driver can only be tested on kernels that are available at the time we put out said driver. 4.3.13 came out in January pre 4.5.0 existence so it wouldn't be surprising if some kernel change caused us a problem. Normally this isn't an issue, like Todd mentioned, as the upstream driver is often more up to date than what is on source forge anyway so there isn't much to be gained using the out of tree driver on such kernels.
However, from the output of your build failure looks like it was unhappy with your autoconf, did you run 'make oldconfig' or see any errors when you did?
