I'm using it for high speed package capture. Im receiving mirrored traffic
from all my edges and core routers for analisys. Since some time ago i
compiled the -zc version of ixgbe and now im using ixgbe+pf_ring, i choose
to keep most up to date modules. I'm also trying to tunning values at the
most. Today i have these options in my modprobe.conf:

options ixgbe IntMode=2,2 RSS=0,0 DCA=1,1 RSS=0,0 max_vfs=0,0
InterruptThrottleRate=4000,4000 FdirPballoc=3,3 LRO=0,0 FCoE=0,0
allow_unsupported_sfp=1,1

I also use a version of ixgbe-zc-startload and some ethtool tunnings, and
the last module worked very well with these changes, so I want to avoid the
regression.
