What filter criteria did you use?  I get very different numbers (see below).
In short, i found only 267 open items for Arianda.

Regardless, to me this stresses the fact that when submitting
bugs/features/cosmetics reports we should be even more diligent in
determining whether the request has already been made and, if not, to
provide as much detail as possible (how to recreate the problem,
implementation suggestions, etc.).  I imagine a lot of their time is wasted
because people were too lazy to do a simple search before they posted (e.g.
doing a search for items that were resolved as Duplicate, Do Not Fix,
Obsolete, or Not repeatable turned up 521 requests).
