I don't think it really looks like a menu at the moment anyway; on 
windows it has a white background, and looks more like a list box...

I generally agree about ui consistency, but I think these little list 
boxes are pretty unique and so there's no harm in the interaction with 
them being unique...  Paul's not the first to be stoked by the idea, and 
I don't think he will be the last ;)
