-1 I think that if someone does not know what winzip is for, then s/he would probably not know what an IDE or even Java is for. (How could a craftsman work w/o knowing his tools?)
I think it is a lot more effort to un-install every time a new update is available than just do an unzip of the new version. This way I am able to keep my preferences and settings. One option would be to either provide both an installer version (for those guys who don't know how to use winzip but with a lot of bandwidth) and a zip/tgz package as usual.
