Did you have to tweak X11 fonts? Since SUNs JDKs are made for RedHat they 
look terrible on my SuSE, mainly because of the fonts. I could not enter 
all characters (at least '\', '^' did not worked) although I could enter 
them in every real X11-application.

I can't believe this, really. My Swing test where subjectively 3 times 
slower than on any Windows platform.
