Hi Tony,

A few questions/ideas:

Can the people in the UK access via the IP address of the eBox server?
Can they connect to other hosts on the network?
Is the Endian firewall set to give out your internal DNS servers to OpenVPN clients?
Is the netmask they have for their IP address correct?
What happens when they do a tracert (or traceroute from a Mac) to the server? Is the eBox firewall allowing access from the IPs that are been given to the UK colleagues?

Hi Guys,

I have kind of weird problem with my ebox. Basically I have setup my ebox server as my local file and printer server in my office. But I do not use ebox firewall or VPN features. However, I have an ENDIAN firewall in front of ebox and Open VPN is enabled on this Endian firewall. In front of Endian firewall I have a D-LINK ADSL router.

Until last week, I had no reasons to blame this setup. But now I have this problem. Apparently, none of my UK colleagues are cannot access my ebox file server through VPN. However, same account working perfectly fine from my location. I have tested this over and over again and I can confirm that my settings are correct. The only difference I can think of that I am in Colombo/ Sri Lanka and my colleagues are in London UK. Therefore I am using Sri Lanka telecom as my service provider and they use Bulldog.

My colleagues have tested this on both MAC and Windows XP PC and we have no luck so far. Also we know that VPN is ok since it can be connected from both locations without any problem. In fact, most miserable issue is ebox fileserver account not accessible only we are connecting from UK broadband.

I can also confirm that none of broadband providers are block VPN protocols through there networks. Also when I am connecting my VPN account from Colombo I can ping to any internal IPs in ebox network. Including to ebox server. But my UK colleagues get "Host unknown" message. However, their open VPN account get assigned a valid IP belongs eBox network.

Guys, can someone shard a light on this issue please? My UK colleagues are desperately need to access this file server through their VPN.

If you guys need any logs, please let me know where to find and I will send them to you.

Thanks in advance,

Tony
