Your welcome. I'd just try the AES. You hate to buy a license for XP when your just going to have to learn Vista soon anyway.

Are you doing encryption other than the check box in the echoVNC client
(use 128-bit AES encryption)?  I've been using this setup for quite some
time without issues in Gentoo/XP in Vmware.
