install folder. Also in that folder is the 1.2 update of the mirage  
driver;
you might try updating the 1.1 version, see if that helps.
        Also, any chance you recently made a Remote Desktop connection
to that PC? Sometimes RDP sessions cause confusion with VNC,
resulting in the black screen effect.
        Lastly, please feel free to keep using the 2.221 version if it works
for you. The primary update in the 2.30 server is the ability to tunnel
other platforms (VNC, RDP and RAdmin). If you're always making
EchoVNC Viewer to EchoVNC Server connections, 2.221 is sufficient
(though it too will be affected by RDP)./
