I have ATT UVerse as my ISP here in Houston, TX (US) which uses a 2Wire
Router/Gateway and I also am unable to route traffic which initiates from
behind my 2Wire back into my router via a Dynamic DNS name/External IP. Im
not sure why this is the case. If I use my neighbors Unsecure wireless to do
a test it works just fine. My guess is you are having a simular issue. Its
the way the router manages its routing tables I think.
I even went as far as setting my EchoServer as a DMZ Host and still could
not telnet to my external IP on port 1328 from behind my router, but from
outside it was just fine.
I do not believe this is a problem with with EchoServer itself as much as a
problem with the way the router is routing traffic from the inside back out
and then back in (if that makes sense).
I guess you could try to tweak the Routing Tables and such on your DSL
router (if it will let you)
Hope this helps
Good Luck,
Chris
