Thanks Craig and Andy for reply,

Graig:

The Motorola E398 has Bluetooth installed but not the JRS82 API.

1. So there is no standard low level Bluetooth API that the JSR82 use?
2. Every mobile producers have to do there own JSR82 implementation?

I was searching the net and it was not so easy to find out witch mobiles
that support JSR82. I talked to a sales office and they had never herd
about JSR82 (they probably thought I was an idiot)

Conclusion is:

If I develop an application, with Bluetooth functionality, it is very
hard
to say if a certain mobile will work, even though the Mobile is
Bluetooth enabled like Motorola E398. I hope this is just because the
technology is fairly new.

I read "Advanced - Adding JAR Files to a MIDlet Suite" on the EclipseMe
site:

"........
Hardware JAR Files
This category of JAR files contain functionality that allows a MIDlet to
interact with hardware that is part of the phone or other mobile device
onto which your MIDlet will be installed. A JAR file that contains
BluetoothT interface classes is one example of this category.
.................."

Maybe there is tiny hope for my Motorola E398 "Bluetooth enabled without
JSR82"

Again, thanks Craig and Andy. Without input from you I would been far
out in the fog

Best regards,

Stephan

installation

Stephan,

Unfortunately what you want to do is generally not possible. In most
cases, anything hardware related is hardcoded into the phone. Adding the

bluetooth libraries is not possible because they are just wrappers
around native code on each phone. There may be phones out there that can

do what you want, but it wouldn't be possible just by packaging up the
bluetooth libraries.

Sorry,
Craig
