You can install Nuxeo using zip or tgz :
http://www.nuxeo.org/static/NuxeoEP/nuxeo-ep-5.1.2.GA-1.zip
http://www.nuxeo.org/static/NuxeoEP/nuxeo-ep-5.1.2.GA-1.tar.gz
The installer (using X11) let you choose the installation target
directory and offers you to read the release notes and the GNU Lesser
General Public License.

Do not read ahead if your answer to question 2) is "I dont know any way.."

PS:
I have kinda tried to hack into the system to go ahead of the place where I
was stuck... I did,
export DISPLAY=:0.0
rite before running the nuxeo jar file. Doing this the nuxeo installer thought
I have a valid X11 installed at that path.
Further ahead it gave me:
