Nope, you need to give permission "Comment" specifically to allow users
to post comments. Please note Write permission includes Comment. The
changeset mentioned in task is already in 5.2 (is prior release of 5.2).
I linked the task to let you better understand the situation.

So if I applied this changeset to 5.2.0 would this allow me to give a
user who currently has 'read' permission the additional permission
'comment'?
Thanks,
Sean

For web sites there are 2 rights: comment and moderate to manage
rights for posting and approving comments. None of them is included in
read right.
See for instance http://jira.nuxeo.org/browse/WEB-187

Hi,
For a Mini WebSite Page that a User has read-access to they cannot
'Add a Comment'. This is at odds with the standard JSF application.
Is this a defect, or is there something else one must do to allow
users with read-access to a page to leave comments?
Thanks,
Sean
P.S. I'm using 5.2.0 by the way
