a final question about the above -- i have the fully-updated
versions of the various checkouts, and i see the new "5.3" branches.
does that mean that you've officially tagged those repositories as
being version 5.3? or does that just mean you've created branches by
that name that will still accept some commits before the final 5.3
release? it's just not clear to me at the moment how you're using the
tags and branches to synchronize with the final 5.3.0 GA release.
