One quick clarification -- the idea that men in groups just sit around
drinking beer and farting at each other while arguing sports is as much a
false stereotype as the classic "all feminists are lesbians" or "all women
like to do is shop and gossip".
I have a group of whitewater rafting and backpacking buddies, and while we
often drink beer, the topics of our conversations run the spectrum of
environmentalism to relationships to literature. We often disagree and
have differing opinions.
As a feminist, i hate to see women engaging the same sort of behavior that
they vilify men for performing.
No personal offense; it's just something that i've noticed -- even in my
Women's Studies class.
