Dear Crhis,
individual states have the right to set some limits on abortion, including
requiring parental consent, disallowing full-terms, etc. They don't have the
right to ban abortion outright. With full-term abortions, even where it is
legal, it is next to impossible to find a hospital or doctor that willperform
them. There are very few who would want one, actually, but I heard of one
case in which the baby had no brain. The parents requested a full-term
abortion and wanted to donate the baby's organs. Protestors tried to get the
procedure stopped, but the doctor decided to do it anyway; court orders
delayed the procedure, etc. It was very heartbreaking for all concerned,
especially the parents who were attempting to salvage something from a
horrible situation.
