While agree with "MT"s analysis of the medical industry's lack of respect
for health in general, I really feel a need to clarify the above statement
just a bit.
There is no numerical way to trace your ovulation cycle. For _some_
women, it may be days 6 - 14; for others it could even be days 2-10 or
days 10-20. It depends on many things: the length of your cycle, the
length of menstruation, your nutritive health, etc., etc. I do
counselling in an abortion clinic, and I can promise you that you really
have to know your own body in order to calculate the "safe" times for
unprotected sex, when we are talking about preventing pregnancy. The best
method for calculating your "safe" times in terms of pregnancy is the
basal body temp method. This requires a woman to take her basal body temp
every day for at least _two_ full cycles in order to learn when she
ovulates, when the egg dies, etc. If a person wants to rely on this most
"natural" of birth control methods, she might want to locate an expert in
"natural family planning" (as it is called) and get a lesson or two.
Of course, in my own opinion, one cannot get much more "committed to
death" than engaging in unprotected sex. But I did not reply to
preach--just to offer an amendment.
Please, take the time to really find out when you ovulate, if you wish to
avoid pregnancy.
Take good care, everyone.
