Hear hear!, Lobo Kola!
Unfortunately, who cares what happens to women? How important are
people who are hidden away in the home doing unpaid, unseen menial
labour? What does it matter when these women, physically weaker
than their abusers, and financially dependent upon them, cannot do
anything about it? And i hear other women complaining abput feminism
having "gone too far"! Ha! It hasn'r gone far enough when repeated
abuse like this is tolerated on such a huge scale.
The violence you talk about has been seen as "A Domestic
problem - none of our business" ANYTHING that occurs in the home,
"private property", is ok. The wife is the mans property, and it's
been considered none of the polices' business. And isn't rape just a
continuation of "normal sexuality", where the male=active hunter
gatherer, (Ug!) and the female = passive? Where the women, who after
people 'discovering' how fun sex is, must find ANY sexual encounter
"fun", even unprovoked rape, even from the husband?
