If it is heres your answer.
it is the best method. People will not change without it. Whenever
something changes there is always problems as humans do not like change.
Nor do they like to give up power. Having the edge with jobs and nearly
all the money is power.
It is a well known fact of psychology that in order to change peoples
beleifs about something just change their behaviour first. The cognitive
dissonance that follows will make them bring their beliefs in line with
their behaviuor.
Some examples. Seat belts. When seat belts first became compulsary people
hated them. People developed phobias and tried to get exemptions from
wearing them on psychiatric grounds. Now hardly anyone has this phobia.
Many people would say they like seat belts and that they are a good thing.
2. SS and other German Soldiers in WW2. These men were ordinary men not
psychopathic killers. so how could they do what they did? They did it
because they were ordered to. Then they believed that what they were doing
was right and necessary.
People can be made to believe anything. All you have to do is control
their behaviour.
Conclusion:
Affirmative action causes people to believe that womyn should be in the
workforce. That womyn can do the job just as well as men. By accepting
that womyn should be entitled to maternaty leave, people will eventually
accept this to without question.
So, Wood, are you still against Affimative Action? If so I'd have to say
youre against womyn being in high positions in the workforce. Please reply
