The Women's Studies Program of California State
University, Fresno expects to hire a Full-Time
Lecturer, pending final approval, for the
1999-2000 academic year.
CSUF is primarily a teaching institution; normal teaching
load is four courses per semester. At least three of
those courses will be in General Education: Introduction
to Women's Studies, Critical Thinking About Gender Issues,
Women in Other Cultures, and Diversity in the United
States. We have a new and rapidly growing undergraduate major,
as well as a popular minor. Faculty share responsibility
for program development. The Program actively seeks women
of color candidates.
Qualifications: Seeking candidate whose interests and
expertise add to and complement the breadth of the
program, from different disciplinary and/or interdisciplinary
experience. Candidate's primary specialization may be in any
area of feminist scholarship.
Academic Preparation: Doctorate preferred, ABD or Master's
will be considered.
Teaching or Other Professional Experience: Demonstrated
commitment to women's studies through excellence in teaching
and scholarship. Preference given to candidates with records of
dynamic teaching of general education courses, experience in the
interdisciplinary field of women's studies, demonstrated
ability to relate to diverse student population and to
work collegially in a highly consultative program.
