Hi all!

While I know some might be distracted by the GOP winning the US Senate (it sure helps to have big corporations give you record amounts right before election finance reforms close that loophole, doesn't it?), you should take some good news with the bad.

Last night, Nov 5, Seattle voted to build a non-polluting quiet rapid transit Monorail, while killing a state plan that would have doomed us to build more roads for polluting cars for the next 40 years.

Once again, with the help of Portland and San Francisco, Seattle showed that you CAN meet and EXCEED the goals of the Kyoto accords, no matter what the right wing regime in the nation's capitol does.

Oh, and there are now THREE hybrid cars for sale in the US today. So, if you live in Seattle, you'll be able to ride your bike to the monorail and never ride a car, or drive a hybrid and help with the monorail.

Action speaks louder than words.
