Aloha,
I am looking for publicly available (in other words, free to use and
adapt as needed, with proper citation of course) monitoring protocols
for terrestrial arthropods that would work in high elevation subalpine
and alpine ecosystems in Hawaii (Mauna Kea). Some of the arthropods
(at the summit of the mountain) are found within cinder substrate,
while others (in the subalpine zone) are found in the soil and on
vegetation, so different protocols may be needed for these different
lifestyles. Does anyone know of any good protocols (preferably those
that have been tested/implemented in large scale monitoring
programs)? I have tried searching the National Park Service database
of monitoring protocols but havenʻt found anything except a protocol
on butterflies.
Thanks in advance!
Jennifer
