Part I. I was wondering if anybody knows whether the common waterweed
(Elodea canadensis) and eurasian watermilfoil (Myriophyllum spicatum) can
exist together in ponds or do they almost always form exclusive monocultures?

Part II. With it's progressive invasion of wetlands, has Eurasian
watermilfoil displaced many Elodea dominated ponds or can it not outcompete
Elodea enough to displace it?

Part III. Does anyone know if a list exists of the most dominant current
macrophytes in the Northeastern US or (better) Pennsylvania region. I know
Elodea and M. spicatum are two but I was wondering if coontail
(Ceratophyllum demersum) or any others really come close to the dominance
that the afore mentioned species have?

I have been searching the literature for days to find this information and
it is quite elusive. I appreciate any leads/information people can offer.

    Thanks,
      Will Brogan
