Cheryl, R has a steep learning curve, but produces excellent graphics that are highly customizable.
On the plus side, it's free and open source. You may download it here: http://www.r-project.org/ Once you've learned the basics of R, the search engine http://www.rseek.org/ is very helpful. If you're willing to pay, S-Plus offers similar graphic abilities as R and comes with a GUI.
